Wow. This seems to be from the early 90s. He described the flipper very differently later on in his career (or maybe post retirement). It's supposed to be bowled with a finger flicking action, where you impart backspin on the ball by flicking your fingers. Here he's trying to project the spin action as almost the same as a leg break. I guess at the point this video was made, it was all about protecting trade secrets and maintaining the mystery about the Warnie flipper.

Im a South African. And I'm almost the same age as Shane Warne. We used to hate his guts, but now that he's gone I have cried so many times seeing these UA-cam videos. .. He wasn't just a great player, but a Great man a GOAT in my opinion. Never have there been and never will there be a beter spin bowler than Shane Warne..Leeeeegend. Yster in my language. It must be a super hard ball to bowl because there are not many spinners that use it at all. I'm sure many have tried but maybe can't master it like Warne did. It really was a lethal delivery for Warne because he used to spin the ball so much and there was such a big speed difference in both deliveries and also the difference in the spin . When Warne bowled in his prime, I was hypnotised watching him bowl and I was glued to the TV screen everytime he did, because I knew he could get someone out with every single ball and didn't want to miss any.
